Officials from the newly set up Atherton and Leigh Foodbank visited the Rotary Club of Astley at their weekly meeting.
Project Manager Warren Done and Secretary David Hughes gave an interesting and informative talk about how foodbanks across the country have been set up to provide emergency food for local people in crisis.
The Atherton and Leigh Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust's UK-wide foodbank network, helping local churches and communities to open foodbanks, providing emergency food to thousands of people nationwide every year.
