The Rotary Club of Chadderton & Failsworth were actively involved in a grand clean up and creation of a “green corridor” between Failsworth and Moston back in 2012.
The project was known as Moston Brook Park and had benefitted from the support and actions of a residents association called NEPHRA. Bit by bit Rotary and NEPHRA got to know each other and particularly around Christmas time Chadderton & Failsworth’s Santa toured the streets of New Moston whilst NEPHRA did the leaflets and leg – work.
This year was the same but bigger. NEPHRA gets its name from the first letters of main streets in New Moston – Northfield, Elder, Parkfield, and Hollingworth Residents Association. They run a host of activities at their local community centre including a successful vegetable garden. The Rotary Club will continue to work with NEPHRA to dream up more joint projects.
The picture shows Chadderton & Failsworth President Peter Fryer on a visit to NEPHRA HQ on the 20th of January when he presented a cheque for £300 to NEPHRA Chair Dena Murphy in appreciation of their support for this year’s Christmas float.
